Hazardous Material Lockers & Buildings
When working with hazardous materials—whether it’s in labs, warehouses, or industrial manufacturing applications—they need to be stored safely and securely. Proper storage and handling of these hazardous materials is vital, or you risk injury or potential property damage. Hazardous material lockers allow for the safe storage of hazardous materials and volatile chemicals keeping them away from people and away from possible ignition sources.
Hazardous material storage cabinets and lockers are used to store a variety of dangerous materials some of which include corrosive chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, and waste. In the event these materials aren’t stored properly, and they spill or ignite, the consequences for personnel and the environment can be devastating.
To ensure you have the safe and secure hazardous chemical storage equipment you need, we offer the following products from Securall:
- HazMat Storage Lockers (2-12 Drum)
- HazMat Storage Buildings (16-80 Drum)

These products are specifically designed for hazardous material storage and dispensing from 55-gallon drums containing flammable or combustible liquids. Double-wall construction consists of a 3” inner space throughout between a 16 or 12-gauge all-welded steel outer wall and 20-gauge steel inner wall. Every model we carry is FM approved, and all Hazmat storage buildings are designed in accordance with the standards set forth by NFPA Code 30 and comply with OSHA and EPA regulations. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Buildings are shipped pre-assembled. Up to 12-drum capacity buildings fit in standard trailers. Larger ones go on flatbed trucks.
A forklift can unload buildings up to 12-drum capacity. Larger ones may need multiple forklifts or a crane. Offloading can also be arranged for you.
Check with your local authorities for setback requirements and wall/roof ratings.
Fire-rated buildings have FM approval and tested components. They come in 2-hour and 4-hour fire ratings. Check with your local authorities for the required rating for the materials that you are storing. Fire-rated buildings also include self-closing doors and fire dampers.
Flammable and combustible liquids stored in drums outside must be in a chemical storage building. Other hazardous materials that could leak and contaminate the environment should also be in a storage building.
If you're storing liquids that freeze and expand, use an explosion-proof heater. We recommend adding R-11 insulation with a heater in this situation.
If you're storing liquids with a low flash point and hot weather is evident where you reside, this could raise the internal temperature and therefore you should use an explosion-proof air conditioner. We recommend adding R-11 insulation with an A/C.
Dry chemical or water sprinkler systems are common options. The choice depends on the materials you store. Water might not extinguish all fires.
Hazmat buildings offer explosion-proof interior and exterior lighting (optional). Agri-Chemical buildings include dust-proof fluorescent interior light and weatherproof exterior light with a photocell (standard).
Classify the materials by hazard. Compatible materials can be stored together. Incompatible materials need separate buildings, as per OSHA requirements.
