While Lithium-ion batteries have been commercially available in the consumer market since the 1990’s, it’s not been until the last 10 years where they have really found their place in our everyday lives transforming the Electric Vehicle (EV) market. Now more prevalent than ever with increasing energy demands and the effect that has on of the environment, Lithium Ion batteries are popular as they deliver much power at a given size and weight. There are however several conditions that can lead to Lithium Ion battery failures and the resulting Thermal Runaway can cause catastrophic fires and even explosions. Low-quality components, manufacturing defects and excessive heat remain the primary causes of battery failure and resulting fires.

The IP Thermal Fire Prevention Kit is a fully customized and integrated video surveillance solution that will provide monitoring and notification when temperatures meet or exceed the safety threshold. When Lithium Ion batteries or electric vehicle charging station temperatures rise to a dangerous level, the system goes into alert and notifies you where preventative action can be taken and your central station can be alerted immediately where emergency responders can be dispatched accordingly.

The system can be purchased as a stand-alone system, or it can be integrated into your existing ULC or NON-ULC system configuration.
